The Bryan-College Station Salvation Army recently announced the launch of a capital campaign for the Center of Hope, which will redesign the existing facility on Cavitt Avenue in Bryan to be more modern, functional and accommodating.

An integral aspect of the project is to align the redesign of the facility with the Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope initiative, which provides clients with the support they need to regain stability in their lives and transition out of poverty and homelessness. The Center of Hope will provide transitional housing for up to 8 families while they receive services and support from the Salvation Army to help them get back on their feet.

Future plans do include retention of the large stained glass window within the chapel, which is a stunning work of art.

“This campaign is to give hope for the people that don’t have hope, so that’s the main thing for us,” Captain Marianne Villanueva said. “Give them the hope that, yes, you can get out of your situation or sometimes people just get in the same cycle. We want to help them to just get out of the cycles and be better.”
